The story...

     I was contacted by V.K. and commissioned to build two float rods to his specifications on discontinued Sage blanks.  I faced some challenges based on the grip layout.  The elongated foregrips on both rods,  typical of many Canadian clients, places the reelseat low on the blank.  This caused some concern because of the rather large OD of the MB blank.  We were able to find a reelseat that works and has the color format in keeping with the motif.  Although they look very similar and draw from the same relative color pallet, they are unique in several areas.  The grips are slightly different in length-due to one of the reelseats being longer,  the grips use the same grab bag of cork, but in a different alignment and format,  the custom engraved buttcaps are slightly different in their placement (one is recessed the other is not) and the guide wraps are different but use very similar colors. 

With this rod, the adventure ends, but another awaits my attention....
