The story...

     M.R. commissioned a Great Lakes Steelhead float rod built on the CTS Affinity Float 6-10# 3pc. blank.  We went with the factory nude (P2000) finish which does little to hide seams or production machining marks, but this rod isn't much about fluff and more about business.  He requested a dark grip, stealth and well balanced and, most importantly, a reel seat that would handle his E. Aquino limited production run Calibre centre-pin reel.  Sometimes these limited production run reels are finicky when it comes to reel seat fitment.  The Alps seat from Batson handles the wide width without issue and locks down tight.  He's going to need it when putting the boots on silvers running for their lives!

With this rod, the adventure ends, but another awaits my attention....
