The story...

 

G.W. contacted IRC for a rod repair and a new build.  We discussed the build options over multiple emails and several discussions.  At last the build parameters were finalized.  I believe He will be very impressed with the results of the additional time I've invested.

Blank:  Lamiglas XSH 156 3L

Reelseat: Batson 

Reelseat Insert: Custom Stabilized Spalted Big Leaf Maple

Stripper Guides:  AMTACK TITANS

Running Guides:  AMTACK TITANS

Guide Wraps:  Garnet NCP, Gold Metallic and Black NCP

Ferrule Wraps:  Dark Walnut (invisi-wrap)

Winding Check: Custom Turned

Hookkeeper:  Looped

Cork: Rubberized, Smoked, Natural, Burled, and Burnt

Build Review:

 

One this build, I used some new cork and cutting techniques.  Once glued and turned, the handle is certainly one of a kind.  I really like the character in the wood used to accent the cork grip.  This rod is certainly regal!

 

 

 

With this rod, the adventure ends, but another awaits my attention....
