The story...

Returning client S.B. put in a request for a slightly more powerful version of the inland trout rod I had constructed him on the first go round.  He was impressed with the fish fighting capabilities, but knew it would be prudent to tackle the larger species of trout (steelhead) with a rod better equipped to handle their inherent feistiness and aggression.

With my advice, we selected a 6/7' 3pc. 11' private labeled blank and using the color (a merlot to red) of the blank to guide us with our component selections and cork configuration came up with a plan of attack.  I was given free reign to do what I pleased with only a few suggestions on fitment and guide wrap colors/layout.  Digging through my cork inventory, I found some red rubberized rings that would hold true to the look we were after and then set to designing a unique look that would compliment everything else.  S.B. had me order some jade thread and specified the trim band / guide wrap look he was hoping I would achieve.  The response I received from the photos I sent to him told me that I nailed it.
